Closing Circles

Yesterday I decided to do something for me, exclusively for me (unlike other things I did so she would see my changes): I chose to close that chapter of my relationship with her and stop living in the past—something I always said I’d never do, but I did. I was trying to revive memories that can’t be relived anymore, things that happened a month ago but now no longer do; at least not with me, not anymore.

Lilian, I love you very much. I learned a lot about myself and about you, which showed me qualities and flaws I had and still have. I’m deeply grateful that God placed you in my path and let me get to know myself through you. Thank you for these almost six months that felt like a year to me. I’m sorry things didn’t end well, but there’s still time to fix some of them.

But today I’ve decided to let you go, to leave no ties to what happened; if something is meant to happen again, let it happen, if not, then so be it.

To my friends, thank you for backing me up during these tough times; little by little, with help from my Higher Power, I’ll get through this.

I love you, Lilian, and goodbye. Be very happy, and my hand will always be stretched out…
