Unlocking an AT&T Samsung SGH-A117

A friend lent me an AT&T Samsung SGH-A117, and while hunting for unlock codes I found several posts listing one. I tried and tried, but only just now—while translating—did I spot what I was missing; so I decided to translate it for Spanish-speakers who still have one of these phones.

First, you have to insert a GSM SIM from another carrier (obviously, not AT&T).

Power the phone on; a screen will pop up saying there’s a SIM error, and then we type ONLY the codes I’ll give you:

  1. *2767*3855# [ wait up to 10 seconds for the phone to reboot by itself ]

  2. When the error screen shows up again, type: *7465625*638*00000000*00000000#

(that’s 8 ZEROES)

  1. Next, enter: #7465625*638*00000000# (8 zeros)

  2. Finally, type *#7465625# and a menu will appear where EVERYTHING should read Disabled or Unlocked.

Pop in another SIM or just power-cycle the phone and your carrier’s splash screen will show up 😛

Good luck =) and let me know if you have any questions.
