This has been one of the hardest weeks of my life (if not the hardest).
My dad had an MI on Monday, May 12 at 6:00 p.m. Thanks to timely intervention in the ER, they were able to reduce the arrhythmia he was suffering. After two days in the ICU, he was moved to the ward (or as they told me, intermediate care). It looks like he’ll be discharged today thanks to the good progress and recovery he’s made.
Yes, I was really scared; way too scared. Losing my dad isn’t like losing 100 pesos. In those moments when he was giving me instructions, asking me to take care of my brother and to find a good pilot, it was awful; I don’t know, I have no words for what that felt like.
But things are better now; it’s just a matter of keeping up with the meds and, above all, protecting him from any kind of agitation, anger, poor diet, etc., etc.
Since that day, I’ve changed the way I think, live, and feel. I’ll stop messing around and start acting like an adult; I have to leave a lot of things behind and yes, I’ll still go out—but not like before… at least not until everything at work is sorted out.
But moving on to something a little (okay, a lot) more cheerful, today’s Google doodle is pretty cool… the invention of the laser
cheers up boys!!
P.S. girl, luv ya
