Welcome to Lilly Town :D
As many of you know (and others don’t), yesterday I went to the Alizée concert with my friends Lalo, Edgar and Manolo (huge Alizée fans, but none like Manolo hehe). As many of you know (and others don’t), yesterday I went to the Alizée concert with my friends Lalo, Edgar and Manolo (huge Alizée fans, but none like Manolo hehe).
We got to the Telmex Auditorium early, around 8 pm (no traffic and we didn’t get lost 😀) and then waited for the girl who would accompany Manolo in his seat (the lucky bastard was in the 3rd row, right up front :@).
We were super happy because we were finally there—IT WAS THAT FRIDAY, JUNE 20!!
We took photos at the entrance, but when we saw people being sent back for bringing cameras, we returned the one we had 😦 Still, we figured we’d try with our phones (and Manolo with his iPhone).
We didn’t wait long; she started right on time at 9:08 pm with a greenish presenter who cracked us up and introduced us to Lilly Town, telling us to let ourselves be carried away by her world!
Then Alizée walked in and waaa we all started screaming haha (yes, I did it—so what? :p). Alizée has the 3 B’s: Good, Pretty, and Short—she’s super tiny and has amazing legs; wow, in the videos you don’t see that body, so we saw how much those clips are edited hehe
She opened with Lilly Town and a bunch of songs that appear in this pic.
I knew a lot of the songs, so we were half-singing haha, especially J’en Ai Marre, Fifty Sixty, Melle Juliette, J’ai pas vingt ans, but when she sang La Isla Bonita—man, that was beyond awesome. Hey Amigo! was another old favorite.
Honestly, the criticism about how she no longer moved like in that famous video that made her known (and captivated many of us) was harsh, but she made up for it with her cuteness and fresh, natural moves.
During L’effet she brought a guy on stage and he didn’t hug her or touch her or anything, so we all—absolutely everyone—started yelling dirty stuff hahaha because the least he could’ve done was steal a little kiss.
She closed with J’en Ai Marre and we were all left wanting a photo or an autograph. Manolo met a guy named Gustavo, another huge Alizée fan, who told us he’d shown up at the box office asking what seats were left and they told him 2nd row!!! So he bought it—lucky bastard…
As we were leaving, we saw a black Escalade and said “There she goes!” because it had 5-stroke strobes and we were like yep, that’s her… We staged a very cop-show chase hehe, but then realized it wasn’t her. With all that adrenaline we went hunting for her at every hotel and apparently she was staying at the Hilton, but they said she might not come back. We drove around forever and even ended up at Guadalajara Airport hehe
Gustavo told us he’d even gone to Mexico City for the cancelled autograph session and we were blown away—at 16, traveling like that, that’s pure fandom.
In the end, it turned out she did go back to the Hilton—boo! We went back to our hotel without seeing our Alizée.
We’re looking at Manolo’s photos and I’ll upload them little by little.
Thank you, Alizée, you brightened my life again, and thanks to my friends for yesterday—you made it magical and special!! I couldn’t have asked for anything more from them 🙂
